Pinewood Stables
HORSES ARE OUR FIRST PRIORITY
Here at Pinewood we have a horse stables with space for 15 horses. Our horses go out in herds in big paddocks in the winter and pastures in the summer. The horses' stalls are 16-20 m2 in size and we use good quality straw as bedding. The feeding of our horses is based on organic hay and grass which is the most natural diet for horses.
We have been breeding riding horses for all of the main disciplines since 1975. Our expertise is based on our long experience with horses of different ages and temperaments. We offer boarding services for a limited amount of horses, especially brood mares and foals / young horses. We have a large outdoor arena and forest tracks and fields for trail rides.

Circular economy
HEAT RECOVERY SYSTEM
Since 2004, we have been using naturally generated heat recovery from the horse stables to heat the kitchen, bathroom and tack room in the horse stables, and now it is also the primary source of heat in the Pinewood Guesthouse. This heat recovery system is our own innovation, which we have been testing and developing for the last 19 years.
The system has functioned well and it has been presented as the Finnish government's flagship project for utilizing horse manure in the years 2016 - 2018. The developed method is relatively simple in structure and easily duplicated in any horse stables.
We use any excess material from the heat recovery process as a natural fertilizer on our fields, from which hay for our horses is harvested. This represents our circular economy and in this way, we do our part in creating a cleaner future through the use of circular economy strategies. Such sustainable agricultural initiatives contribute to the prevention of advancing climate change.
